Whitehaven Bowling Club will be hosting the second day of Cumbria Bowling’s championship with eleven titles being played.
Bowlers from around the county will head to Whitehaven on Sunday, July 27, to try and claim the title they have been working towards.

Eleven titles are on offer with seven of them giving the holders a place at Bowls Englands national finals at Royal Leamington Spa.
Starting at 10am there are three places at the national finals on offer as Workington’s V. Cook, C. Bannister, T. Smitham and R. Forster play Wigton’s J. Bell, M. Haney, P. Peile and N. Bowe in the Women’s Fours.
Whitehaven’s R. Prince will have home support as he faces D. Forster of Workington in the Men’s Singles.
In the Men’s Two Woods Workington feature with H. Crosby as he takes on H. Stewart of Seascale.
Completing the morning sessions matches S. Collins from Maryport plays L. White of Croft, Cockermouth, for the Cumbria county title in the Women’s Restricted Singles.
A title is heading to Workington as the afternoon sessions start at about 1pm (13:00) with D. Forster and J. Park playing M. Hodgson and S. Cook in the Men’s Pairs.
Wigton’s K. Baxter, L. Baxter and R. Baxter take on Aspatria’ H. Creighton, J. Wilson and D. Pattinson in the Men’s Triples.
Two singles titles could be going to Wigton as C. Browbank faces Workington’s T. Smitham in the Women’s Singles while M. Haney plays A. Benbow of Egremont in the Women’s Junior Singles.
In the Roland Starkie Triples Kirkbride’s trio of C. McDonough, R. Peart and G. Fox take on Cleator Moor’s A. Wilson, S. Ancell and M. Little for the Cumbria county title.
The final session of the day has two Cumbria county titles on offer at about 3pm (15:00) with Workington’s D. Hodgson and D. Forster returning to the final after losing in 2024 to play Wigton’s M. Haney and C. Hodgson in the Mixed Pairs.
As Workington’s V. Cook, R. Forster, S. Cook and J. Park look to add the Mixed Fours to the clubs finals weekend trophy haul against Keswick’s Fitz Park quartet of S. Robinson, C. Forsyth, B. Robinson and C. Harding.
