A66: Tributes paid to ‘adoring’ Workington mother-of-three who died in crash

The family of a Workington mother-of-three who died n a crash on the A66 said he “memory will live on every day”.

At 6:38pm on Saturday, July 12, police responded to reports of a crash near Workington. 

The crash involved a silver Audi A3 and a black Ford Focus on the A66. 

The front seat passenger of the Ford, a woman in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family described Abby as “a devoted mother, loving partner, cherished sister and unforgettable friend”.

The driver of the Ford suffered serious injuries and was transferred to hospital, where he was reported to be in a stable condition.

The passenger of the Ford who died has now been named by police at Abby Storey, 35, from Workington.

Abby’s family has paid tribute to her, saying she “brought laughter and joy wherever she went”.

Paying tribute, they said: “Abby was a proud and adoring mother to her three beautiful children, in whom her memory will live on every day.

“A loving partner to Andrew and much-loved sister to Gemma. Abby was known for her unforgettable smile that could light up any room.

“Her energy was unmatched, from her wild dance moves to her passion for karaoke, she brought laughter and joy wherever she went.

“Abby was kind, caring and endlessly thoughtful, always willing to help anyone in need.

“Though her life was cut short, she lived it with incredible spirit, ambition and love.

“She will be missed more than words can say by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

“Rest easy now, sweet angel, reunited with Mam and Dad. We will carry your memory with us always.”
