Customers at Booths’ Ulverston branch have raised over £20,000 through a partnership with micro-donation charity.
A grand total of £20,798.10 was raised for St Mary’s Hospice as customers at Booths’ Ulverston branch were able to make micro-donations with charity Pennies.

In the last 12 months customers were able to opt to round up the cost of their shopping at the checkout.
These acts of kindness added up to make a deeply meaningful contribution to local hospice care.
Annabelle Holloway, Corporate Partnerships Manager at St Mary’s Hospice, said: “We are so grateful to Booths and their diligent staff and to all the customers who chose to give back.
“Your support has made a real and lasting difference to people and families in our community who rely on our care.
“It has been a pleasure to have been your charity partner for the past year.”
As more of us rely on our mobiles and move online, traditional methods of fundraising such as cash collection tins fall away, leaving this new approach to giving in its wake.
This staggering amount could provide 693 counselling sessions for bereavement, offering support while grieving, 20 days of specialist care within our In-Patient Unit or 57 night sits by our Hospice at Home team, providing comfort and dignity to patients nearing the end of their life, within their own homes.
While the Booths Ulverston store will now be supporting other local charities as part of this initiative, their ongoing support of St Mary’s Hospice is genuinely appreciated.
