Police are carrying out enquiries following the death of a two-year-old boy in Carlisle.

Cumbria Police confirmed emergency services responded to an incident in Carlisle on Thursday, July 17.

Police were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service at 4:19pm with a report of a child being unwell at an address in Carlisle.

The child, a 2-year-old boy, was taken to hospital, but later died.

Cumbria Police is carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the death.
