Stagecoach, the UK’s leading bus operator, is alerting passengers in Workington to special arrangements while the town’s bus station is closed for improvement works.
Buses will not be able to use the bus station on Murray Road for approximately six weeks from Monday, July 21.

The bus station is expected to reopen on Monday, September 1.
Sean O’Callaghan, Operations Manager at Stagecoach in West Cumbria, said: “The safety of passengers is our top priority and these works are designed to make the bus station safer.
“Buses will be able to reverse without having another vehicle behind and layout changes will eliminate any reason for passengers to cross the bus station between moving buses.
“We will also use this opportunity to give the bus station a deep clean and also redecorate the bus station interior, which will help improve the environment and overall passenger experience”.
Instead, the 51 service to Moorclose will depart from the westbound stop on Oxford Street, near the junction with Park Lane.
The X4/X5 to Keswick and Penrith, and the 30/300 towards Maryport and Carlisle, will use a temporary stop on Vulcans Lane.
And the 29/29A/30 towards Whitehaven, Frizington and Thornhill, the 50 to Moorclose, 52 to Seaton and Harrington, and the 60 to Silloth and Skinburness, will leave from the Jane Street stop.
The bus station closes on Monday, July 21, and is expected to reopen on Monday, September 1.
