A66 fatal: Two dead after two-car crash near Workington

Cumbria Police has launched an appeal after two people died in a crash on the A66, at Twenty Row, near Workington.

At 6:38pm on Saturday, July 12, police responded to reports of a crash near Workington.

The crash involved a silver Audi A3 and a black Ford Focus on the A66.

The front seat passenger of the Ford, a woman in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The front seat passenger of the silver Audi, a man in his 30s, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford suffered serious injuries and was transferred to hospital, where he was reported to be in a stable condition.

Police have launched an appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
