Workington Speedway has acknowledged the statement by British Speedway Promoters Ltd regarding a temporary seven-day suspension of our membership due to administrative matters.
A spokesperson for Workington Comets said: “We wish to reassure our supporters that we are working closely with the BSPL and SCB to resolve these matters swiftly and effectively.
“The club has made positive progress already, and we are confident that all outstanding issues will be addressed within the seven-day suspension period.
“While we are naturally disappointed that this pause in racing affects our scheduled fixtures at Berwick (28th June), Oxford (2nd July), and Redcar (4th July), we fully understand the decision taken and appreciate the guidance provided by BSP Chairman Rob Godfrey.
“Thank you for your patience.”
Workington Comets returned to action on Saturday, June 21, with a 51-39 win over Plymouth Gladiators.
