Cumbria’s Alsop and Johns Trophy teams have made a mixed start to their campaigns while Workington and Whitehaven hold onto top spot in the Triples and Fours leagues.
West Cumbria Fours League
In the battle of the top four Fitz Park sent Whitehaven A back with a 5-2 defeat on Friday, May 30, while Cleator Moor picked up a 5-2 win at Vulcan Park to go joint second.
In the lower half of the table Whitehaven B won 5-2 at home to Seaton while Workington B lost 5-2 on the road against Maryport.
On Friday, June 6, Workington A return to action with a 7-0 victory at Cleator Moor while Fitz Park left Vulcan Park with a 7-0 win.
In the B teams battle it was Whitehaven who won 5-2 against Workington take on.
The game between Seaton and Maryport shows how a 5-2 score can be deceptive with two rinks result a 12-12 draw and on the other it was 18-17 win for Seaton.
On Friday, June 13, Workington A welcome Fitz Park as the top two battle it out, while Whitehaven A welcome Workington B, Cleator Moor head to Seaton and Maryport host Vulcan Park.
All matches are a 6:30pm (18:30) start.

West Cumbria Mixed Triples League
Whitehaven A’ winning streak came to an end on Tuesday, May 20, as they lost 4-5 at home to Cleator Moor as Seascale also lost 4-5 to Workington B.
Maryport were beaten 5-4 by Croft with Workington A’ 8-1 win against Harris Park B lifting them into second and Harris Park A won 7-2 at home to Seaton.
Wigton came away from Egremont with a 7-2 loss while Vulcan Park beat Whitehaven B 5-4.
In the match between the top two on Tuesday, May 27, it was Whitehaven A who came out on top with a 6-3 win over Workington A but with Maryport winning 9-0 against Seascale they only have a three point lead.
Harris Park A were beaten 9-0 by Wigton as Croft lost 7-2 at Cleator Moor while Seaton won 8-1 at home to Whitehaven B.
Two games were postponed with Workington B match with Egremont and Harris Park B game against Vulcan Park to be rearranged.
The League takes a two week break but the matches didn’t stop as on Tuesday, June 3, the Knockout Cup started.
Defending Champions Croft lost 7-2 at home to Whitehaven A 7 as beaten finalists Workington A won 7-2 at Vulcan Park.
Harris Park A won a close game against Workington B 5-4 as Maryport beat Cleator Moor 7-2.
Whitehaven B progressed with a 9-0 win at home to Egremont and Seaton beat Harris Park B 6-3.
The next round takes place on Tuesday, June 13, when Whitehaven A head to Workington B as Maryport welcome Harris Park A and Workington A head to Wigton as third plays fourth.
Seascale head to Whitehaven B looking to recover after the last round while Vulcan Park play Seaton and Egremont take on Cleator Moor.
In the final Cockermouth derby Harris Park B face Croft.

Cumbria future is looking bright as the White Rose team was in Northallerton, Yorkshire on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1.
Like other National competitions the White Rose has changed its format with the teams playing in two games of singles, pairs, triples and fours with three points for each win and then twelve for an overall shots win.
On the Saturday Cumbria faced Northumberland with Ryan Corkill winning the Singles (5-5/6-5) before teaming up with Harry Creighton to take the Pairs (9-3/6-5).
Taylor Johnston, Jack Wilson and David Wilson then drew the Triples (3-6/6-4) and also drew the Fours (13-0/3-8) with Harry Creighton joining the trio.
Cumbria took the overall 51-36 to win 20-2 as host Yorkshire won 18-3 against Durham.
In their second game Corkill drew the Singles (3-12/8-3) before joining H Creighton to win the Pairs (6-6/6-5).
There were draws in the Triples (2-7/10-6) for Johnston, J Wilson and D Wilson; and then in the Fours (13-1/3-8) with H Creighton.
The Cumbrian team took the overall 51-48 to record a 18-3 win as Lancashire beat Yorkshire 19-4.
In the final session of the day the Cumbrian Pair of Corkill and Creighton drew (10-7/4-6) and the Triple of Johnston, J Wilson and D Wilson won (6-1/7-5) to leave the side with a 3-1 lead and 27-18 overall.
On Sunday Corkill drew the Singles (8-1/5-8) as Johnston, J Wilson, D Wilson and H Creighton lost the Fours (3-4/3-8) to draw the games 4-4 but with a shot score of 46-39 Cumbria won 17-5.
In the other game Yorkshire beat Northumberland 18-3.
Lancashire and Cumbria faced off in a final round decider with the Lancastrians needing to take all 25 points.
Johnston, J Wilson, D Wilson and H Creighton drew the Fours (5-4/6-3) while Corkill won the Singles (9-3/5-4) as they booked their place in the National Finals.
Corkill and Creighton lost the Pairs (6-2/7-4) as Johnston, J Wilson and D Wilson won the Triples (8-5/12-1) as the side won 7-4 and took the overall (48-36) to storm to a 19-4 score line.
In the final game Northumberland won 24-0 against Durham.
The Alsop team were in action at Silloth on Saturday, June 7, against Lancashire.
The Cumbrian side sent the Lancastrians away with a 22-0 defeat winning 105-56 while Yorkshire won 16-6 against Northumberland in a close game that ended 124-121.
Cumbria’ Johns Trophy team travelled to Durham on Saturday, June 7, where the hosts won 125-104 to start the campaign with a 18-4 win.
