Northern Bowlers included in England International squad

Three bowlers from the North of England have been selected for Bowls England International squads.

From Cumbria is Aspatria’s Kevin Harrison and Wigton’s Molly Haney with Lancashire represented by Heaton Hall’s Lloyd Milligan.

One of the 25 men selected for the training day on Sunday, June 8 is Aspatria’s Harrison who won the National Triple’s in 2022 Hass been in the England squad since.

This season the international events includes the British Bowls International Series, Ireland Test Match, Bowls Europe Mixed Pairs, Hong Kong Classic and a new-look World Cup.

Performance Director Mo Monkton said: “We had a highly successful season in 2024, with great performances by all of our teams.

“I’m delighted that we have been able to retain the core of players that helped us to achieve success over the past 12 months but also delighted to see several new faces introduced to the squad as competition for places will drive everyone to play to their potential.”

In the Under 25 squads are Wigton’s Haney and Heaton Hall’s Milligan who both had good runs at the National Finals in 2024.

Haney reached the semifinals of the Junior singles losing to eventual champion Millie Tuck.

Milligan was crowned Male Rising Star at the Bowls England 2025 awards.

Performance Director Mo Monkton said: “The quality of play at all venues during the Amy Rose Bowl and White Rose Trophy last weekend was of a very high standard, and augurs well for England’s future on the international stage.

“As is usually the case with this age group, the selected squad has a great combination of experience and those who will be new to this level of our sport.

“We look forward to all of the players performances this coming Sunday as they bid for the right to pull on the England jersey.”
