Man charged after threatening another with a knife and assaulting a Cumbria Police officer

A Millom man has been named after being arrested for threatening another with a knife and assaulting a police officer.

Officers were made aware of an incident on Holborn Hill, where it was alleged that a male had threatened another male with a knife.

The Police arrived on scene and promptly arrested a male on suspicion of common assault and threats with a blade in a private place.

Due to the nature of this incident the case was taken to the Crown Prosecution Service who authorised charges of common assault, threats with a blade in a private place and assault of a constable.

The male, who can now be named as Robert Dias (Jnr), was remanded in custody pending a court appearance on Saturday, May 31.

Following his appearance at court he was remanded again pending trial.
