A group of teenagers were ‘locked’ inside of a play park after evading staff at closing.
The emergency services were called to the new Shiver Me Timbers play park in Maryport at the weekend after a member of the public reported a group of youths locked inside.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “This incident wasted over an hour of the emergency services time which could have cost lives.
“The teenagers were released and on viewing the CCTV it was apparent that the youths had purposely evaded staff at closing and hid until all staff had left then played on all the equipment that is designed for under 12 year old’s, not teenagers.”
