Charity golf day raises £3,500 for St Mary’s Hospice

St Mary’s Hospice is delighted to have received a donation of £3,500 from Home & Finance.

The money was raised through their annual charity golf day.

For more than 30 years, Home & Finance have stood proudly alongside St Mary’s, helping to ensure that local people receive vital care and support during life’s most difficult moments.

This year, their support takes on even deeper meaning as they dedicate their 30th Annual Golf Day to the memory of their much-loved colleague and friend, Kathryn Singleton, whose passion and dedication to the event helped shape it into the success it is today.

Kathryn, who was a key part of the Home & Finance family for 36 years, was instrumental in organising their golf days — dedicating her time and energy to making each event a success.

Kevin Walsh of Home & Finance, said: “We’ve been raising funds for St Mary’s Hospice for over 30 years because it’s a cause that’s incredibly close to our hearts.

“St Mary’s has cared for many of our customers over the years, and we know firsthand just how special and compassionate the staff are — we even know some of them personally.

“But this year, it became even more personal. St Mary’s looked after one of our own, Kathryn, who was with Home & Finance for 36 years.

“She was an extraordinary and loving person, and the care she received through the Hospice at Home service was nothing short of amazing.

“The nurses and staff are a true credit to your organisation.Kathryn was always at the heart of our fundraising efforts, always with a smile, and this year we’re committed to reaching a fundraising goal in her memory.

“Our business is about people, and St Mary’s is a place that truly cares for people.”

Her passion, commitment, and care touched everyone involved.

The team at Home & Finance are determined to make this year’s event a fitting tribute to Kathryn’s legacy.

The Golf Day will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Ulverston Golf Club, and promises a memorable day of sport, friendship, and fundraising in her honour.

In addition to the golf event, Home & Finance will also be hosting a second fundraising day on Friday, September 26, 2025, open to golfers and non-golfers alike, with all proceeds once again supporting the work of St Mary’s Hospice.

“We are incredibly grateful to Home & Finance, not only for their ongoing generosity but for the heartfelt way they are choosing to honour Kathryn’s memory,” said Annabelle Holloway, Corporate Partnership Manager at St Mary’s Hospice.

“Their support is helping to make a real difference to the lives of families across our community.”
