Macy said: “I’m delighted to have been nominated for the Student of the Year award.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my degree apprenticeship, and it is great to see my hard work being recognised by Sellafield, the University of Cumbria, and the APM.”

Additionally, a group of Sellafield Ltd project management degree apprentices have been shortlisted in the APM Project Management Challenge in recognition of their work with North Lakes Foodbank.

Their project raised awareness of holiday hunger, a critical issue affecting many families in the local area.

The team includes Luke Beresford, Jake Cullen, Megan Graham, Adele Jones, Sophie Macleod, and Max Sawley.

Team member, Luke, said: “Our project team is immensely proud to be shortlisted. The competition has been a great opportunity to showcase the project management skills we’ve developed throughout the project management apprenticeship, whilst delivering real social impact within the community.”

Andrew Vaughan, Project Management Apprentice and Graduate Scheme Manager at Sellafield Ltd, praised the team’s efforts, saying: “This is the first year that the North West branch has run the APM Project Management Challenge.

“It’s been a fantastic opportunity for our apprentices to take ownership, deliver meaningful work, and make a real impact in the community.

“Thank you to colleagues who continue to support their campaign.”

The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 22, at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester.
