The West Cumbrian music festival, Mont Fest, has been cancelled due to “insufficient ticket sales”.
A spokesperson for the event, that was due to take place on Saturday, June 7, has confirmed the Egremont music festival will not go ahead in 2025.
In a social media post a spokesperson explained the cancellation is down to “insufficient ticket sales”.
The post read: “We regret to inform you that ‘Mont Fest’ has been cancelled this year due to insufficient ticket sales. This decision wasn’t made lightly, as our dedicated team of volunteers poured their hearts and souls into planning this event.
“We understand how much ‘Mont Fest’ means to our community, and it’s truly disheartening to have to take this step. Unfortunately, without the necessary support, we can’t go ahead with the event.”
Organisers have promised refunds to all ticket holders.
They added: “Thank you to everyone who showed interest and support. We’re determined to learn from this experience and hope to come back stronger in the future.”
A member of ‘Mont Fest’ management committee, Chloe Pascoe, added a personal note where she said she was “gutted” with the cancellation.
She added: ”It’s frustrating to see all the hard work go to waste, but unfortunately, we just didn’t receive the support we needed. Thank you to everyone who was involved.”
