Newlaithes Ladies maintain their position at the top of the Andrea Buggy Women’s League as Stanwix, Whitehaven AFC Ladies and Workington Town Wildcats all win.

Hosting Vickerstown Ladies on Wednesday, April 30, Newlaithes recorded a 6-0 win with goals from Stacey Harkness Grant and five for Kerri Mallinson.

Speaking after the match Jade Williams said: “A strong performance from the whole team saw us secure a comfortable win against a strong Vickerstown ladies.

“The lasses all played with the control and determination we lacked last week. The team play to create the goals was fantastic to watch, with each one involving some lovely link up play and hard work.

Proud of the lasses for stepping it up a gear and showing some brilliant teamwork.”

Whitehaven AFC Ladies Yellow racked up another big win with three hat tricks from Ella Beadsmoore, Grace Houghton and Megan Sharples.

With Eden Stainton, Ashleigh Mcallister and Captain Niamh Morgan all on target as they ran out 12-0 winners over Xtreme Ladies.

Only one of Penrith AFC Ladies teams were in action as the Rubies side were beaten 0-7 by Stanwix Hornets.

Playing a day earlier on Tuesday, April 29, Workington Town Wildcats recorded a 1-6 win at Whitehaven AFC Ladies Blue.

The Workington side featured a number of debutants with Olivia Rayson, Keeley Holliday, Kirsty Bates and Kobie Metheral all marking the occasion with a goal as Holly Laing and Jess McGlynn added the other two.

For Kobie it was extra special having joined the Allerdale Girls team aged 8 and moved through sides to make her senior debut for the renamed team.

Returning to league action Carlisle United Ladies Development host Whitehaven AFC Ladies Yellow on Wednesday, May 7, with Penrith AFC Ladies Titans heading to the Workington Town Wildcats.

Whitehaven AFC Ladies Blue welcome Penrith AFC Ladies Rubies and Xtreme Ladies face Newlaithes Ladies.

All matches are a 7:15pm (19:15) kickoff.
