One elected to Egremont Town Council in By-Election

A new councillor has been elected to Egremont Town Council in a by-election.

The South ward by-election was triggered after long standing member Michael McVeigh has been declared.

With three candidates standing it was Christopher John ‘Chris’ Colley of the Reform UK party that won with 359 votes.

Of the 2,834 eligible voters only 745 ballots (26.3 percent) were issued with four being rejected for either voting for more than one candidate or being unmarked or void for uncertainty.
