Two teenagers have been arrested following a number of suspected hoax 999 calls.
The suspected hoax calls came in from the Barrow area.
A spokesperson for Cumbria said: “Following these incidents, we’d like to remind people that hoax calling, when people deliberately choose to misuse the 999 emergency line, uses up valuable emergency resources.
“They could slow down our responses to genuine emergencies and could potentially put the lives of others at risk.
“Those people at risk could be your friends or family.
“Hoax calls are treated very seriously. It is an offence to make a malicious or hoax call to the emergency services.”
The two arrested teenagers were released on bail for further enquiries to be carried out.
