During the visit, the Lord Lieutenant toured the facilities, met with staff, and saw firsthand the invaluable services the charity offers.

Brendon Cook, Chair of the board of Hospice at Home West Cumbria, expressed gratitude for the visit, saying: “We are deeply honoured that the Lord Lieutenant of Cumbria took the time to visit our charity and learn about the work we do.

“Our team is committed to providing compassionate care that allows patients to spend their final days at home with their loved ones.”

Hospice at Home West Cumbria provides end of life care and are working towards their mission: ‘to be at the heart of our community and provide home nursing, emotional support, complementary therapies, and lymphoedema care when and where needed’.

The visit marks an important moment in raising awareness of the growing demand for hospice care services in the home, which are critical to supporting individuals facing a life limiting palliative diagnosis.

These services allow individuals to remain in familiar surroundings, ensuring comfort and support during a difficult time.
