Two arrested after failing roadside drug tests

Cumbria police has arrested two drivers after they failed a roadside drug test.

The first was a 48-year-old woman from Birmingham driving a Dacia Sandero at 9.40pm (21:40) on Monday, March 31, north of junction 43 on the M6 northbound.

She was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and released under investigation to allow for time for blood test results to come back positive for cocaine.

Then, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, a 40-year-old man from Cockermouth was arrested.

He was driving a Fiat Panda when he was pulled over at around 4.20am on April 1, in Cockermouth and also failed a roadside drug test after testing positive for cocaine.

He too was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and released under investigation to allow for time for blood test results.
