A school boy has been arrested following a police investigation into a racially aggravated assault.
The assault occurred on Lismore Place, Carlisle Thursday, March 26, at around 3pm and involved two secondary school aged boys from Carlisle.
As a result one of the boys received treatment at the Cumberland Infirmary for head injuries, he has since been released from hospital.
During the incident, a third boy also from Carlisle was assaulted causing no injury.
One school boy has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and assault actual bodily harm he remains in police custody.
Enquiries are ongoing by officers to establish the circumstances of the incident, and officers are providing support to the victims and their family, police have said.
