Workington Cricket Club announce professional for 2025 Cumbria Cricket season

Workington Cricket Club has revealed their overseas professional for the 2025 season.

After teasing on social media that it was an Australian the club has revealed that Hamish James will be joining them for the 2025 Cumbria Cricket League season.

The announcement was made on social media with the club saying: “We are thrilled to announce that 22 year old batting all rounder Hamish James will be joining the club as our overseas player for 2025.

“Touching down in Workington next month, Tasmanian Hamish will help bolster our batting ranks, as well as play a huge part in our Junior coaching and Community Work.”

Hamish James plays for New Town’ Grade 2 side, second team, in Tasmania where he has a high score of 105 with three hundreds to his name.

He has also taken 203 wickets with a best of 5 for 11 runs.

Workington will be back in action on Sunday, April 12, when they host Westhoughton Cricket Club in the National Cup.
