Cumbria Police remind people of the danger of drink driving

Cumbria Police have reminded people of the danger of drink driving after a crash in Maryport.

The driver was over the drink drive and crashed into a barrier on the bridge on Curzon Street.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “If ever you needed more proof around the dangers of drink driving.

“This car managed to shear a full front wheel off while drink driving and crashing into the pedestrian barrier.

“Driver blew 109 in custody; the limit is 35.”

They also confirmed the driver has been charged and will appear in court.
