Cumbria Police has joined the celebrations on International Women’s Day.

The Cumbrian constabulary employs 1,112 women or 51.8 percent of their total workforce, who make positive contributions to communities and helping keep Cumbria safe.

Taking to social media a spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “Today we join people across the world in celebrating International Women’s Day.

“This week we have held a series of internal events to support and develop women across our organisation.”

They also reminded people how they can join the police and that recruitment is open.
