LA23NET’ latest business networking event looks to strike a pose with professional photographer Tom Kay as he hosts a photography workshop on the shores of Derwentwater.
Taking great photos for work and social media will be the focus of professional photographer Tom Kay at the business networking event.
The session, for entrepreneurs, business owners and marketing professionals, will reveal how to compose landscapes, portraits and product pictures.

Cumbrian Tom has had his own photography business since the Nineties as well as working for local newspapers for 20 years.
He said: “I’ll be demonstrating little cheats and pro tips, and, most importantly, the basics of composition.
“Without good composition there are no good photos.”
The Picture Perfect event, run by popular Cumbrian networking group LA23NET, is from 9am to 11.30am on Thursday, March 27, at Lingholm Estate in Portinscale, Keswick.
After coffee and pastries, Tom will split people into groups to take photos around the grounds and lake.
Participants are encouraged to bring the camera they use every day, whether that is a phone or any other type of camera.
Tom said: “My aim is to get people taking better photos with any camera, the best camera is the one you’ve got in your hands at the time.
“What I generally see is people don’t make the most of what they’ve got because they don’t know how to take advantage of the technology.
“If they’ve got a £1,200 iPhone, that’s a bit like having a sports car and never taking it out of first gear.
“But you don’t need the best – I use a Google Pixel phone that’s several generations old and it’s fine.”
LA23NET runs monthly meet-ups with guest speakers and provides a forum for businesspeople to network with peers from Cumbria and Lancashire.
You can book your place at the Picture Perfect in Portinscale event here with participants having an option to stay on for a networking lunch.
