Hospice at Home West Cumbria, is collaboratingin a national legacy advertising campaign to promote hospice care.
It’s the first time a co-ordinated approach has been taken to get the conversation started about the importance of leaving gifts in Wills.

More than 143 hospices from across England, Scotland and Wales are participating, focusing on a united message – ‘Help hospice care live on for all, for now, forever.’
As the only local provider of dedicated end of life home nursing, specialist palliative complementary therapies and bereavement support, gifts in Wills play a vital role for Hospice at Home West Cumbria and fund the care for one in four people supported by the charity.
Chief Executive, Julie Monk, said: “We are really excited to be involved in this project and hope that people will consider including a gift to us in their Will.
“It’s becoming increasingly difficult to raise the funding we need to deliver essential services, and our future depends on the generosity of our community.
“I would encourage everyone to think about leaving a gift in their Will to support our work and help ensure we can continue to provide care and support for local people.”
The advert will feature on 21 different daytime TV channels, such as ITV, C4, channel 5 and selected SKY channels and people are encouraged to visit their local hospice’s website for more information.
As part of the campaign Hospice at Home West Cumbria will be actively engaging with the local community through various outreach initiatives.
They have organised informational stands at community events including Workington market on the Thursday, February 19, and Whitehaven market on the Saturday, March 15.
The Hospice has partnered with local businesses to help raise awareness and are hosting an open day at their Therapy and Information Centre in Workington on the Monday, February 24, for anyone who would like to learn more about the services they provide.
