The Cumberland Building Society’s West CumbrianBranches Have Raised Over £1000 For Hospice At Home

The Cumberland Building Society’s four West Cumbrian branches have raised over £1000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

The four branches Pow Street in Workington, Whitehaven, Egremont and Cleator Moor came together during the festive period and raised over £1,000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria to enable them to continue to care for people in the local community.

Daniel Palmer, Cluster Manager for Pow Street, Whitehaven, Egremont and Cleator Moor for The Cumberland Building Society said: “The team love a bit of healthy competition, which made the challenge more exciting.

“A real buzz knowing that every donation adds a little bit more to the pot. We had our own target in mind and it gave a real sense of achievement when the total for the four branches came in.

“Over the past year, the teams have been fundraising for several charities and to raise over £1,000 during December, finished the year on a high.

“Without the kind generosity of our colleagues and customers the ‘Grow your £30 challenge’ wouldn’t have been a success.

“I would encourage those considering taking part to give it a go. No matter how big or small the donation, the contributions make such a positive difference.’’

The charity provided each branch with £30 and set them the challenge of raising as much money as they could by putting their entrepreneurial skills to the test whilst also seeing which branch could raise the most money.

The teams carried out different activities including raffles, guess the name of the teddy, guess the number of sweets in a jar, and had prizes such as a cinema hamper, and Christmas treats.
