The family of a man who died in a Workington crash has said his loss has left an “unimaginable hole” in their lives.
At around 4.15pm on Thursday, January 30, a crash occurred involving a Volvo car and a motorcycle.
The incident occurred at the junction of Branthwaite Road and the A596, near Workington Golf Club.
Emergency services attended, however the motorcyclist, a 60-year-old West Cumbria man, died at the scene.
Police have named the man as Robin Dakin, 60, from Pica.
The family of Mr Dakin, who was known as Bob, said: “Bob was a kind and generous man, well thought of by a great many people, and his shocking loss is a tragedy for all those who loved him or had the privilege of spending time in his company.
“Bob was a talented musician, skateboarder, skier and a keen traveller. His loss leaves an unimaginable hole in our lives that can never be filled.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for the members of the public who assisted at the roadside, the North West Ambulance Service and The North West Air Ambulance for their care and dedication.”
In a statement Cumbria Police said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it, and has yet to come forward.
“Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam which could assist officers investigating the collision.
