Carlisle United are looking for their third manager of the season after relieving Mike Williamson of his duties.
In a short statement on the clubs website: “Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that head coach Mike Williamson has this morning been relieved of his duties and has left the club with immediate effect.
“Everyone at the club would like to thank Mike for his efforts during his time at the club.
“The club will give a further update in the coming days.”
The announcement comes after a 1-5 defeat to Swindon Town on Saturday, February 1, and a busy transfer window with ten players joining the club.
Mike Williams joined the club from MK Dons in September following the departure of Paul Simpson.
The Cumbrian side are currently bottom of League Two five points a drift and face the threat of relegation to the National League.
