Copeland Community Tour Returns With ‘Convoy For Cleo‘ A Cumbrian Girl Fighting Cancer

Copeland Community Tour is returning for a special cause with a “Convoy for Cleo”.

Taking to the roads of West Cumbria on Thursday, December 19, the popular convoy will be raising funds for Cleo Greig.

Cleo has been recently diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma and will be starting Chemotherapy at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Organisers of the Convoy said: “We want to help take some of the smaller worries away for Ashleigh and Jamie.

“The specialists have told them that she will be having intense Chemotherapy for the next 5 months which could be 2-3 times a week at the RVI in Newcastle with stays over in between.

“As you can imagine this is going to be financially hard with the costs of fuel, staying over and food etc. whilst being off work too.

“Any monies raised will go directly to Ashleigh and Jamie to help support them. If you can donate or help that would be amazing.

“I know times are hard financially for a lot of families so even just sharing this would be greatly appreciated.”

Convoy Route and collection points:

  • For anyone wanting to see and donate in person the convoy will begin on the Eskett Quarry road at 7pm.
  • It will make its way through Frizington, past Rheda Park and down Bowthorn Road, turning left at The Crown Pub. We will head on to Wath Brow.
  • It will continue down Trumpet Terrace, through Cleator and on to Egremont.
  • The convoy will then head down Egremont Main Street to the Monument, turn right and head up to the top of Orgill.
  • It will come back through Orgill past Smithfield and then onto Klintz Brow, driving through Bigrigg and heading along the A595 and down Inkerman Terrace.
  • Lastly, the convoy will make its way through the town centre past Wetherspoons and up towards the Pelican Garage where the convoy will end.

For anyone wanting to donate in person there will be collectors in hi viz vests and with collection tubs at these points along the route.
