A crash on the A66 between a car and a van closed the road causing delays.

Just after 8am Cumbria Police received reports of a two vehicle crash on the A66 between Cokermouth and Stainburn.

The crash had occurred between a car and a van.

Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the van was taken to hospital with injuries.

Cumbria Police told The Herdwick News the driver of the car “seems to have been assessed by NWAs at the scene” and “only has minor injuries”.

The road was blocked with debris on the road then while recovery of the vehicles took place.
