Cumberland Council will begin resurfacing works on Overend Road in Whitehaven, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the local road network.
The resurfacing project starting Monday, November 11, will be conducted in two phases with a full road closure and is expected to last five days, weather permitting.
A spokesperson for Cumberland Council said: “Businesses remain open as usual throughout this essential work and encourage the community to continue supporting local businesses.
“The council thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during this important project and apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
Work will take place Monday to Friday, from 8.00am to 5.00pm, with no weekend work planned.
To help keep the team on schedule, residents on Overend Road are requested to park their vehicles elsewhere during working hours.
All vehicles should be moved before 8.00am each day while work is underway.
While vehicle access for residents and businesses will be maintained whenever possible, the council ask that the public discuss specific access needs with on-site staff.
Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be fully maintained.
Recycling and waste collections will not be disrupted, and information about bus stop relocations will be posted at current bus stops.
For any queries regarding bus routes, passengers are encouraged to contact Stagecoach directly.
