PureGym Partners With Teesside Hospice

Teesside Hospice and PureGym has announced a new partnership to foster a healthy lifestyle, while supporting the vital services that the Hospice provides to patients and their families.

The partnership will kick off with PureGym’s grand opening at Teesside Park’s former Millenium Nightclub, near Showcase Cinema, on Friday, November 1, 2024.

Director of Income Generation for Teesside Hospice, Kyla de Lehenstein Collins, said: “Teesside Hospice provides exceptional care to those who need it, and partnering with PureGym allows us to reach new audiences while promoting wellness as a foundation for quality of life.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with an organisation that shares our commitment to community wellbeing and support.”

PureGym will be providing the staff and volunteers of Teesside Hospice discount to access their Middlesbrough and Hartlepool state-of-the-art gyms.

In addition to the discount, PureGym will be assisting the Teesside Hospice Fundraising team with fitness fundraisers in the future to raise essential funds for those living with a terminal illness.

Sam Hickman, General Manager at PureGym Stockton-on-Tees Teesside Park said: “We are
proud to partner with Teesside Hospice to encourage more people in the local area to live happier, healthier lifestyles.

“PureGym Stockton-on-Tees Teesside Park will open on the 1st of November when we will be joined by volunteers from the Hospice to cut the ribbon.

“These local heroes play a crucial role in supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of the local community, offering vital support to individuals and families when they need it most.

“We couldn’t think of better group to declare our newest gym open and look forward to welcoming members through our doors very soon.”

Each year, Teesside Hospice care for around 3,000 people, and it costs around £16,000 a day to run their services for free, which include the 10-bed Inpatient Unit, Bereavement Centre, Wellbeing Centre, Outreach and a Lymphoedema Clinic.

In the future, a series of community health events, fitness challenges, and fundraising activities will be launched to inspire individuals to take charge of their health whilst supporting those living with a terminal illness at Teesside Hospice.
