Penrith Mountain Rescue aided North West Ambulance Service with a casualty who had broken their ankle.
The Mountain Rescue team were contacted by North West Ambulance Service who had received a call from a walker who had broken their ankle whilst walking near Hesket Newmarket on October 8.

The team were able to use a farm track to get vehicles within a few hundred metres of the incident site.
On arriving it was found that the walker had suffered a bad break that had deformed the joint.
Providing strong pain relief and the ankle splinted so that a more comfortable stretcher carry could be used to the nearby road and before transferring to the waiting ambulance.
