Man Dies After ‘Suffering Chest Pains’ On Cumbrian Fells

Keswick Mountain Rescue responded to a call as a man in a walking group suffered chest pains.

The call came in from Cumbria Police after a report of a man in a walking group suffering chest pains near to the summit of Ullock Pike, on Skiddaw, on October 12.

Keswick Mountain Rescue team and Helimed 58 were deployed but the adverse weather conditions meant that the helicopter had to stand down.

As Keswick team arrived the man was found to be unresponsive and CPR was immediately commenced but the man could not be saved.

A spokesperson for Keswick Mountain Rescue said: “Our thoughts and condolences go to the man’s family and friends.”
