Cumbria Police has recommended Egremont Castle grounds to be better illuminated after youths targeted pensioners and cars in a spate of anti social behaviour incidents.
The police has confirmed drivers have been reporting incidents of youngsters throwing mud bombs at passing cars, leaving one damaged.
A pensioner’s bungalow has also been targeted in the area, with the same behaviour causing damage to a window.

In a statement Cumbria Police said: “Patrols have attended the location to deter further ASB and we are looking to proceed with a Dispersal Order for any youths located in the area.”
They added that Egremont Council has been given Crime Prevention Advice “for the grounds to be given more illumination in order to promote a bright and welcoming environment together with greatly reducing the opportunity of ASB or criminality”.
