Whitehaven AFC Club Chairman, Luke Johnston, said: “I’m very sad that Jamie has decided to step down, when Neil Hetherington left Jamie was the right man for the job, but family comes first and I fully understand why Jamie has had to make this difficult decision.

“13 years is a long time to give to amateur football and over the years he has given back to so many people, he’ll be a massive miss. I’ll miss the banter most of all and I hope he won’t be a stranger”.

Paul Morgan will be stepping in as Caretaker Manager with the side in third place in the Premier Division of the Lancashire Women’s County League with two wins and a draw from five games.

Anyone interested in applying for the role are advised to email: Luke.Johnston@whitehavenafc.com.

The closing date for applicants is Wednesday, October 16, at 12pm (Midday), and applications will not be accepted over social media.
