Growing Well a mental health charity has opened its third site in Cumbria.
The charity which has sites at Kendal and Tebay has opened its third at Beck Green, Egremont.

They have rolled out its blueprint that uses horticulture to help people with moderate to severe mental health issues while also providing benefits to the wider community.
Part of it’s aim is to help strengthen bonds, creating a voice and space for marginalised groups, promoting participation and improving local food chains through its community crop share.
Taking over the greenhouses at Beck Green the charity will provide 1:1 support, supervised horticulture activities as well as vocational and life skill development.
The Whitehaven and Workington MP, Josh MacAlister attended the opening and said: “Fantastic to be at the official opening of the new Growing Well project in Egremont today with Cllr Sam Pollen.
“Amazing to see the progress since I was there planting kale just a few months ago.
“This is such a fantastic initiative providing fresh, homegrown fruit and vegetables to the local community and helping people with their mental health and well-being.”
Growing Well extended their thanks to the NDA, Copeland Community Fund, the National Lottery Community Fund and the National Lottery Heritage Fund for their financial support for the project.
The Egremont site will be holding corporate and Community Volunteering days where people can come and join in.
