A multi-agency rescue was launched on Lake Windermere after reports of a capsized boat.
Initial reports were received late on Thursday, September 26, regarding a number of children in the water after a boat capsized.

Multiple agencies responded with Cumbria Fire and Rescue, Cumbria Police, North West Ambulance Service, Coastguard, Lakes Wardens, Mountain Rescue, Ulverston Inshore rescue and the Great Northern Ambulance Team all involved.
A Coastguard helicopter was called to carry out a search and found an upturned vessel with a single person sitting on top.
The person was brought ashore and handed over to the care of North West Ambulance Service as Cumbria Police carried out an investigation and established that it was only one person in the water.
The Coastguard helicopter carried out a final sweep of the lake before returning to Prestwick.
