Cumbria Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision involving a white HGV and a grey Ford Fiesta on the A596, near Aspatria.

The collision was reported to officers at 11.28am on Wednesday, September 25 as the driver of the Fiesta, a man, in his forties, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle in a critical condition.

The driver of the HGV was not injured.
