A missing person was found “safe and well” after a multi-agency search off the West Cumbrian coast.
On Tuesday, September 17, Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team, St Bees RNLI, Whitehaven RNLI, Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team were assisted by Belfast Coastguard after reports for a missing person.

At around 7:30pm the teams carried out a search off the St Bees coast.
During this time St Bees RNLI were taking part in their night training.
After the initial search, as the teams were preparing to enter the next phase of searching, Cumbria Police informed them the missing person had been found “safe and well”, St Bees RNLI confirmed.
