A Crew Manager from a Carlisle Fire Station has been selected to represent the England Fire Station football team.

Stu Forrester, the Crew Manager at Carlisle East Fire Station was invited to attend a trial game during a selection process held in July, at Ilkeston Town Football Club.

The former Penrith AFC and Kendal Town FC player impressed enough to be selected for the national squad.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Fire and Rescue said: “Congratulations to Carlisle East Fire Station Crew Manager Stu Forrester, who has been selected to represent the England Fire Service football team for the 2024/25 season.

“Good luck Stu.”

Stu has been selected for the first matchday squad of the season, which is against the Royal Air Force on Wednesday, September 18, at Royal Airforce Cosford Stadium, kick off at 18.30pm.
