Former MP “Amazed” By Support As They Continue To Host Skills Fair

The former MP for Carlisle, John Stevenson, will be organising and hosting his 11th Skills Fair.

Taking place at Carlisle College on January, Thursday 23, at 2-6:30pm the former MP decided to keep going after being contacted by people after the election defeat.

John Stevenson said he was amazed that so many people contacted him after the election and asked if he would keep going and organise the 11th in 2025.

That with the continued support of organisations like Inspira, Carlisle College and Carlisle Job Centre, “I could not say no.”

Commenting John said: “One of my proudest achievements has been organising and hosting the annual Carlisle Skills Fair.”

The 2024 edition was the best he had hosted, with record numbers of employers, training providers, young people and job seekers attending.

He urged people to come to the 2025 Skills Fair saying: “I want everyone in Carlisle and North Cumbria to be able to grasp the opportunities on offer and be happy and successful in life.

“The skills fair is the perfect way to help people be equipped with the right skills and experience for those jobs and careers.

“So please, save the date and see you there.”

The event is sponsored by Border Brite, The Cumberland and Pladis with support from Insprira, Carlisle College, Gen2, SP Training, Carlisle Job Centre and PHX Training.
