St Mary’s Hospice’s Walk to Remember has been called a resounding success and inspiring as the Hospice continues to mark its 35 anniversary.
The annual Walk to Remember event was a sellout, with over 1,000 participants registering with participants asked to raise at least £35 each, the number of years the hospice has been providing care to the Ulverston community.
“The energy and enthusiasm at this year’s Walk to Remember were truly inspiring,” said Events and Challenges Manager, Mel Dixon.
“To see over 1,000 people come together in support of our hospice, especially as we celebrate 35 years of service, is nothing short of incredible. The success of this year’s Walk to Remember is a testament to the strength and unity of our community. “It was an amazing night filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt memories as we came together to honor the wonderful people who have touched our lives.
“The overwhelming support we received not only celebrates their legacy but also ensures that St Mary’s Hospice can continue to provide the care and compassion that our patients and their families deserve.”
These fundraising events ensure that St Mary’s Hospice can continue to provide vital care to those who need it most with only one fifth of funding needed coming from the government.
This means that 8 out of 10 of the hospices patients rely on the generosity of the community and the success of fundraising events like Walk to Remember.
The Hospice added: “As we reflect on this milestone event, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, donated, and supported us. The success of Walk to Remember is a testament to the strength of our community, and we are excited to see how much has been raised to support the work we do.
“We look forward to continuing this journey together and making a lasting difference in the lives of those we care for. Keep your eyes peeled for Walk to Remember 2025 launching.”
The total amount raised will be revealed soon, for anyone wanting to donate or for further information about St Mary’s Hospice and the services they provide head to their website here.
