Durham Constabulary Appeal For Witnesses As Workington Biker Dies In Crash

Durham Constabulary have confirmed that a man who died in a crash was from Workington.

The much-loved grandfather-of-eight tragically died following a crash around 12.40pm on Friday, August 30, on the A68 at High Stoop, outside the Brown Horse Pub and involved a car and a motorbike.

The biker, a 66-year-old man from Workington, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been named by Durham police as beloved father and grandfather, Anthony Jackson.

He leaves behind his wife, Lesley, children Philip, Sharon, Jamie, Matthew, and Sam, and grandchildren Phillipa, Philip, Cayden, Beau, Alex, Patrick, Albie, and Rosie.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident, or anyone who has any dashcam footage from the area prior to the collision.
