A Cumbria Police officer sustained an injury following an arrest in Carlisle.

A 26-year-old man who was wanted by the police was located on The Crescent, Carlisle at 9:56am on Saturday, August 17, on.

The man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault and remains in police custody.

During the arrest an officer sustained an injury to his arm, the area of The Crescent is currently closed whilst the officer receives medical treatment.
