Workington Town Rugby League Ladies Make History With Win In Plate Final

Workington Town Ladies have made history after becoming the 2024 Women’s Plate champions with victory in Wigan.

Heading to Orrell St. James’ Bankes Avenue ground on Sunday, July 21, the West Cumbrians faced Leigh Miners Rangers Ladies.

With tries from Shakayla Okesene, Millie Woodburn, Katie Jackson and Caitlin Jenkinson.

Along with conversations from Alice Rush and Jaya Pilkington gave the League Two side a 8-22 win.

In only their first season in League Two Workington Town Ladies are currently third two points behind the leaders and head to Sheffield Eagles A on Sunday, July 28.
