Audible ‘Pop’ In Walkers Ankle Leaves Them In Need Of Stretcher Off Blencathra

Keswick and Penrith Mountain Rescue were called out after a walker heard a ‘pop’ as they slipped on Blencathra.

A simple slip on the descent of Hall’s Fell on Saturday, July 13, resulted in an audible ‘pop’ in a walker’s ankle and unable to continue a request was made for help.

With Keswick Mountain Rescue low on numbers Penrith MRT were asked to assist and provided help.

Pain relief was provided, the ankle splinted, and the casualty then stretchered down to the road where the woman was taken by car to hospital for further checks and treatment.
