Andrea Buggy Women’s League: Whitehaven AFC Ladies Up To Second After Workington Draw

Whitehaven AFC Ladies and Workington Diamonds closed the gap to Andrea Buggy Women’s League leaders Newlaithes.

With the league leaders missing a week Whitehaven AFC hit the road making the trip to Carlisle United Ladies on Wednesday, July 3.

Ella Beadsmoore hit two as Ashleigh McAllister and Elle-May Callander made it a 0-4 victory over their North Cumbrian rivals.

Abbeytown Ladies are up to fourth and two points off second after a Abbie Woodburn double and Lucy Carr goal gave them a 3-2 win over Penrith AFC Ladies.

Workington Diamonds were held to a 1-1 draw by Vickerstown as the pair fight for places in the top half of the table.

The next round of matches take place a day later on Thursday, July 11, as Newlaithes Ladies FC face Abbeytown while Whitehaven AFC travel to Vickerstown and Allerdale Wildcats host Xtreme Fitness Ladies.

All matches are a 7:15pm (19:15) kickoff.
