West Cumbria Bowls Leagues: Workington Top Both Leagues As Competition Enters Penultimate Month

Workington and Whitehaven are showing their strength as a club as they are the top two clubs in both the Triples and Fours Leagues.

West Cumbria Mixed Triples League

Workington returned to the top of the table on Tuesday, June 25, with a 0-9 win at Egremont as Whitehaven A moved a point ahead of Croft with a 8-1 victory.

Harris Park A came away with a 7-2 defeat at Cleator Moor while Harris Park B sent Seascale back with a 7-2 loss.

The Knockout Cup takes centre stage on Tuesday, July 2, as Seaton face Harris Park A to get their tournament started as Maryport play Wigton while Workington host Whitehaven B.

West Cumbria Fours League

The second half of the season has started with leaders Workington A taking a 2-5 win from the trip to Whitehaven B on Friday, June 28, as Whitehaven A won 0-7 at Vulcan Park to sit twelve points behind in second.

Maryport couldn’t match their first game with Fitz Park as the Keswick side came away with a 0-7 victory while Seaton lost 5-2 at Workington B.

Heading into the penultimate month of the season Workington A host Cleator Moor on Friday, July 5, as Whitehaven A welcome Maryport while Fitz Park play Workington B and Whitehaven B head to Seaton.
