Andrea Buggy Women’s League: Newlaithes Ladies Continue To Hold Onto Top Spot As Workington Diamonds Lead Chase

Newliathes Ladies continue to hold onto the top of the Andrea Buggy Women’s League as Workington Diamonds lead the chasing pack.

In a goal filled round on Wednesday, June 19, Newlaithes recorded a 0-1 win over Vickerstown with Chelsea Norris scoring the only goal of the game.

Workington Diamonds kept pace in second with a 10-1 win over Stanwix Hornets as Abbeytown moved up to third with a 4-3 victory over Allerdale Wildcats.

A Kate Brown double and goals from Trudy Donald and Lucy Carr have the home side the three points as Stacey Eland and Leah Harrison got in the score sheet for Allerdale.

Xtreme Fitness Ladies bounced back with an 1-8 win over Carlisle United Ladies with four for Rachel Gallagher, two for Jessica Reid and a goal apiece for Annabel Watson and Grace Earl, who scored her first for the team.

There are three matches on Wednesday, June 26, as leaders Newlaithes head to Penrith AFC while Stanwix Hornets face Vickerstown and the Allerdale Wildcats welcome Carlisle United Ladies to the Fibrus Community Stadium.

Playing a day later on June 27, Whitehaven AFC Ladies take on Abbeytown Ladies.

All matches are a 7:15pm (19:15) kickoff.
